Just learning MISO has directed emergency load shed for entire state of Louisiana including Entergy New Orleans. Which means rolling blackouts could occur. This is expected to last until midnight. More details as soon as I receive them. @CityOfNOLA @nolaready

The power company in Nola-Entergy, sent a text out to everyone telling people to lower their heat thermostats and turn off their electric water heaters & if we don’t we may suffer additional charges. It hasn’t been this cold in Nola in THREE YEARS. **** them.

MISO has now canceled load shedding for Entergy New Orleans due to stabilization of the grid. Power is now being restored. Comms from Entergy to customers needs to be much improved for emergency situations like this.

@ethnola @elsbet @NOLA_Fredo You know how entergy offers levelized billing? Texas allows power providers to sell fixed rate plans similar to levelized billing. But they are also allowed to sell variable plans that are fully exposed to spot electricity prices.

We are now tied back in to the backatown Bywater grid, which is the worst one for power outages. Power outage #2 this week, thanks Entergy. Same grid that went out constantly for 2 years after Katrina living on generator power.
