The first Five Nights at Freddy's game was released ten years ago, on Aug. 8, 2014. FNaF 1 was developed by veteran independent game developer Scott Cawthon, who made the game in response to criticisms over the unnerving presentations of his previous outings. FNaF 1 quickly took the world by storm, and its ensuing popularity spawned a trilogy of novels and a feature-length Five Nights at Freddy's movie.
Scott Cawthon would develop more games in the newly-christened Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. Some of these games were spinoffs, but many more of them were prequels or sequels that helped add to the lore of Five Nights at Freddy's. After a decade, the FNaF series is still going strong and shows no signs of stopping.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 is one of two FNaF titles to use virtual reality, the other being its predecessor, Help Wanted. The use of this technology may not be appealing to some players (thus why this and Help Wanted are ranked so low on this List), but it is otherwise not mandatory to use virtual reality headsets to play either Help Wanted 2 or Help Wanted. It consists of mini-games based on newer titles in the FNaF series. These mini-games include repairing animatronics and recreations of three FNaF games: Sister Location, Pizzeria Simulator and Security Breach.
Help Wanted 2 is not as outwardly frightening compared to other FNaF titles, but it still delivers scares. Being a virtual reality game, much of Help Wanted 2's scariness comes from having to directly face animatronics, which are under repair for most of the game. There is especially a sense of unease about being able to thoroughly explore the environments that are featured.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted makes use of virtual reality technology, though it is not necessarily mandatory. The premise of Help Wanted is that Fazbear Entertainment, owners of the FNaF universe's notorious Freddy Fazbear's Pizza restaurant, is capitalizing on the revived attention the pizzeria has garnered from Scott Cawthon's FNaF games. Fazbear Entertainment has taken it upon itself to recreate the first three games in the FNaF series into a virtual reality experience.
Help Wanted may not seem like much other than remakes of the first three Five Nights at Freddy's games. However, Help Wanted proves effective due to its use of virtual reality, combined with the added animations to the animatronics, which makes it even more terrifying compared to the original versions.

Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator is an interesting combination of two video game genres. The other half is a survivor horror typical of Five Nights at Freddy's, which Pizzeria Simulator cleverly masks with the business simulation half.
Pizzeria Simulator's mixture of genres is a nod to the criticisms of Scott Cawthon's earlier works being unintentionally creepy. Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is set inside an average civilian home, with the player taking control of a small child who has recurring nightmares involving Freddy Fazbear merchandise. The player must survive each nightmare by monitoring their bedroom and hallways for animatronics. FNaF 4's ending shows the child celebrating their birthday at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where absolutely nothing will go wrong.
FNaF 4 is the only game in the main series not to take place at a Fazbear-related establishment. Despite this, the familiarity of the home setting makes FNaF 4 scarier, even without having to deal with animatronics in a commercial setting. Sister Location tasks the player with repairing animatronics before the next morning, just as long as the animatronics do not turn on the player first.
